Kansas State Reps Discuss Upcoming Legislative Session

When their spring adjournment ends, Kansas state lawmakers will look to resolve a $1 billion budget gap, adopt a school funding plan, modify taxes, and maybe even vote on Medicaid expansion — again. (Piece of cake, right?) Today, Republicans Stephanie Clayton, of Overland Park, Fairway's Melissa Rooker, and Merriam Democrat Jarrod Ousley, talk about what challenges stand in the way, and what Kansans can expect at the wrap-up session's end. Then, sports reporter Greg Echlin tells us about things changing at Kansas State University (the athletic director), and things staying the same (football coach Bill Snyder).

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
