Possible Hate Crime In Olathe, And What's Showing In Independent, Foreign And Documentary Film

Netflix

First, we discuss Wednesday's deadly shooting that killed one man and injured two others in an Olathe bar. Then, Up To Date's indie, foreign, and documentary film critics dive into the Oscar-nominated short films in the live-action, animated and documentary categories. They also highlight movies showing now in the metro area, including I am Not Your Negro, A United Kingdom, The Red Turtle, The Girl with All the Gifts, Bitter Harvest and Toni Erdmann.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
