Rumors swept the Missouri Capitol that the bust of conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh was being delivered today, along with the bust of former slave Dred Scott. House Speaker Steven Tilley recently announced that both would be inducted into the Hall of Famous Missourians this year.

Kansas City-based sculptor, E. Spencer Schubert, made a post to his websitetoday indicating he was transporting both busts to the Capitol – but the post was later altered to remove the reference to Limbaugh.  House Speaker Steven Tilley says he has no idea if Schubert was delivering both busts or just one.

“I haven’t had a chance to visit with him (Schubert), but I do know we’re inducting Dred Scott," said Tilley. "We don’t even have a date on Rush Limbaugh yet, so we will be inducting Dred Scott, though.”

That ceremony is set for Wednesday at noon in the House Chamber.

Meanwhile, Democrats and several women’s groups have objected to Limbaugh’s induction into the Hall of Famous Missourians, after he called a Georgetown University law student a “slut” and a “prostitute” on his nationally-syndicated radio show.
