Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker assumed oversight of the county's COMBAT anti-drug program after a judge's ruling in September.

Segment 1: Two-term Jackson County prosecuter is vying for additional role as Missouri Democratic Party leader.

"We may be down, but I'll be damned if we are out," Jean Peters Baker says of her desire to lead Missouri Democrats after their disappointing midterm results. Following an announcement that Jackson County will no longer prosecute marijuana crimes, Peters Baker also discussed the exceptions to this policy change, offered her perspective on efforts to battle violent crime and spoke about her new role overseeing the COMBAT anti-drug program.

Segment 2, beginning at 23:43: Reviews of the latest Coen brothers film, a Nordic noir tale and a cinematic telling of the Gary Hart political scandal.

If there's one thing the movie industry can be relied on to do, it's the release of  its best offerings in time for the holidays. This month's round-up includes the thrilling foreign films "Border" and "The Guilty," a gripping biopic in "A Private War," and the true-life stories "A Boy Erased" and "Beautiful Boy." Our indie, foreign and documentary Film Critics let us know which we should see before they leave area screens.
