Seg. 1: Remembering Morton Sosland | Seg. 2: "The Wild Bunch"

Segment 1: Kansas City mourns the death of second major philanthropist in a week.

Morton Sosland, who rose to run the publishing company that bears his family's name, died on April 25, just two days after he lost his friend and fellow city patron Henry Bloch. Friends recalled Morton's personality, generosity and legacy.

Segment 2, beginning at 22:59: The cinematic success behind "The Wild Bunch."

Fifty years ago Kansas Citians experienced something shockingly new in cinema that altered the idea of violence in movies. How director Sam Peckinpah's vision for "The Wild Bunch" put audiences in the middle of the brutality of the Old West and created a film that would become an icon.

"The Wild Bunch 50th Anniversary Celebration" takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 1400 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64105. A screening of the film will be followed by a Q & A with film professor Paul Seydor.
