Troubleshooting Your Travels

rudymaxa.com

Ever had one of those vacations where nothing seems to go right? Your luggage gets lost, the reservation’s for the wrong day, and you accidentally asked for a sub-compact car for your family of five?

In the first part of Wednesday's Up to Date, we’ll talk to travel expert Rudy Maxa and get some tips to make your retreats real treats and avoid some of the common snags.

HEAR MORE: Rudy Maxa will speak on "Why Everything You Used to Know About Travel is Wrong" on March 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library, 4801 Main St.

Rudy Maxa, known as public radio's "Savvy Traveler," host and executive producer of Rudy Maxa's World, an Emmy Award-winning public television travel series. He is the star of more than three dozen travel DVDs; among his books are Access Los Angeles and 100 Countries, 5,000 Ideas: Where to Go, When to Go, What to See, What to Do.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
