For the second half of this Thursday's Central Standard, a new tribute to local legend Mott-ly.
Lee Tisdale, aka Mott-ly, was born a hemophiliac, suffered from chronic pain, and contracted HIV from a blood transfusion. Though you'd never hear about any of that from him. He was better known for his own art, curating shows at the MoMo Gallery, and cruising around the Crossroads in his wheelchair, with a look of determination on his face.
His friend Chris Snipes was drawn to how Mott-ly could "transform a considerable amount of suffering into an ever-deepening well of empathy and art." His new documentary film explores the impact Mott-ly had on the lives of those around him.
