Parents, Teens & Technology

Your son wants to hang out at a friend’s house: he calls your cell to cell to ask.  Your daughter is staying late at school: she sends you a text.

With all the technological advances in recent years, communication for parents and children certainly is easier, isn’t it?

Maybe not.  Parents can actually find themselves competing with Facebook, xBox and cell phones for their kids’ time and attention.  This can create tension when one of the issues they need to discuss is the technology itself.  How, where and when should children have access to these gadgets and websites?

Wednesday on Up to Date, psychologist Wes Crenshaw is back to discuss the positive impact and possible pitfalls of teens and technology
