Keeping Your Vote Safe, And Park University Pianist Stands Out In International Competition

Ralph Lauer

The Cliburn

Recent claims from elected officials and investigations into Russian election meddling have some wondering about the security of their vote. Today, we find out what the Kansas City, Missouri, and Johnson County Kansas election boards are doing to protect electronic, paper and absentee ballots. Then, Park University student Kenneth Broberg discusses his performance and success in the prestigious (and grueling) Van Cliburn Internation Piano Competition.

Kenneth Broberg will perform at the Folly Theater at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 10. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, August 1. For more information, visit FollyTheater.org.

When I host Up To Date each morning at 9, my aim is to engage the community in conversations about the Kansas City area’s challenges, hopes and opportunities. I try to ask the questions that listeners want answered about the day’s most pressing issues and provide a place for residents to engage directly with newsmakers.
