Kansas City, MO – Robin Carnahan plans to run for the U.S. Senate next year.

The Kansas House will take up a major budget bill today (WED) as lawmakers try to agree on a plan to eliminate a $200 million deficit.

There are major shortfalls in mental health services in the Kansas city area, especially for the poor and those with other problems such as chronic disease.

The University of Missouri system is bracing for a prolonged economic downturn with several belt-tightening measures including a salary freeze and potential furloughs.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
