Kansas City, MO – Michelle Singletary began her career as a banking and bankruptcy reporter for the Washington Post and she's been covering issues of financial planning and money management ever since. Today she's heard regularly providing commentary and taking questions about personal finance on NPR's Day to Day, heard on KCUR weekdays at noon. Singletary's column, The Color of Money is syndicated by the Washington Post Writers Group. It also appears in the Kansas City Star. Earlier this year, Singletary began hosting her own a money management reality television show, Singletary Says. It airs on Radio One's TVOne station.
First, we sent Davin Jackson out to ask some Kansas Citians about some of their own money management concerns.
In January, Michelle Singletary released her lastest book: Your Money and Your Man: How You and Prince Charming Can Spend Well and Live Rich. Singletary was in town on Saturday for a forum on financial literacy sponsored by the KC Neighborhood Alliance.
