KCUR Studios Internship

KCUR Studios interns get to work with a team of producers, reporters and hosts to create daily, weekly and seasonal podcasts.
A reporter holds a microphone up to a woman during an interview while a farm-hand looks on.
KCUR Studios podcast producer Mackenzie Martin interviews Kansas Citians about the history of prairies.

KCUR Studios produces the station’s on-demand content. Regular podcasts include our daily news podcast Kansas City Today and our weekly essay podcast Real Humans By Gina Kaufmann. We also produce limited series like our food history podcast Hungry for MO and the award-winning narrative podcast A People’s History of Kansas City.

Interns gain experience working with a team of producers, reporters and hosts, mixing sound and writing scripts, web copy and social media content. Production work for limited series podcasts or projects in development could also include research, recording and logging tape and outlining episodes.

This is a full- or part-time internship, up to 40 hours/week.
