New Mystery Series Based In KC Area
Murder mystery fans: a new series of police crime novels launches next week, starring the tough but sensitive Skeet Bannion.
She's a retired KCPD homicide detective who wants to get away by becoming the police chief on a small-town college campus.
Skeet Bannion is the creation of local author Linda Rodriguez, who won a national competition with this first novel. Every Last Secret is now being published by St. Martin's Press, and has already been recommended as a must-read for this month by Barnes & Noble's mystery editor.
Linda Rodriguez joined KCUR's Sylvia Maria Gross in studio to talk about Every Last Secret, which merges the mystery genre with some witty observations about life on a college town.
Rodriguez will be officially launching the book at a reading on Tuesday, April 24 at the Central Branch of the Kansas City Public Library.
This story was produced for KC Currents, which airs Sundays at 5pm with a repeat Mondays at 8pm. To listen on your own schedule, subscribe to the KC Currents podcast.
