Kansas City, MO – A suspect has been shot and wounded during a bank heist this morning in Olathe. Police say the robber took at least six hostages from the Capitol Federal Bank located at 151st & Mur-Len, made them strip down to their underwear and loaded them into a stolen van. Police pursued the suspect to Johnson County Executive Airport where shots were fired, injuring the suspect. Police officials say the suspect has been life-flighted to an area hospital. Details about his injury are not known at this time. None of the hostages were injured. It was not immediately clear if the suspect was planning to hijack the airplane to flee the scene.

An Amtrak train slammed into a tractor-trailer rig at a St. Louis railroad crossing this morning on its daily run to Kansas City, critically injuring the truck's driver. None of the dozen to 20 passengers on the train are seriously injured. Four complained of minor injuries, mostly to the back and neck. A police official says the crossing's lights and bells were functioning. The train was reportedly traveling 60 to 70 miles an hour when it hit the semi. An Amtrak spokeswoman says she doesn't have any specifics on what caused the crash.

A white tiger makes its debut tonight at the Kansas City Zoo. The 16-year-old animal named "Silver" can be seen by Friends of the Zoo members through the weekend and all zoo visitors will be able to see her beginning Monday. The 325-pound tiger is the main summer attraction at the zoo.
