Georgian Folksongs

Kansas City, MO – Normally, the Hen House Grocery Store in Fairway, Kansas as classical music playing on the sound system. But if you're lucky you just might walk in one morning to a live performance of Georgian folksongs by two of the store's employees: Boris Varatzkhelia and Fattah Kriner the bread baker. When Linda Sher visited the two friends, Varatzkhelia was handing Kriner several bits of white paper -- two new songs with the Russian lyrics spelled out phonetically.
