Chinese American community responds to murder

Kansas City, MO – An Overland Park teenager appeared in court this week - she was charged in the murder of her mother last month. 16-year-old Esmie Tseng's first hearing was in the juvenile division of Johnson County District Court, but prosecutors say they want to try her as an adult. Anthony Tao is covering the story for the Kansas City Chinese Journal. He talked to KCUR's Sylvia Maria Gross about how the case has impacted the Chinese American community.

Anthony Tao is a journalism student at Northwestern University in Illinois.
