By Sylvia Maria Gross

Kansas City, MO – The new Kansas City Missouri schools superintendent, Anthony Amato, shares his plans for the district. PREP-KC executive director Susan Wally talks about private donations to school districts on both sides of the state line, including from the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. Plus, the new Screenland Granada opens in a renovated old movie house in Kansas City Kansas, and is trying to draw Spanish-speaking audiences. And fabric artist Sonie Ruffin (pictured at left) tells some of the stories behind her quilts.
