Kansas City, MO – A new Missouri chapter of the Minuteman Project signs up members. The California-based group organizes a civilian patrol along the US border with Mexico it's now expanding to report on illegal immigration throughout the country. Four UMKC students move into the Ivanhoe neighborhood as part of a mentorship program for area children. Plus, a discussion of one of the films from the Latin American Film Festival of Kansas City, and Kansas City Friends of Alvin Ailey director Tyrone Aiken talks about the upcoming Ailey company performances.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
