Kansas City, Missouri – In Jackson County yesterday, voters in Lee Summit passed a half cent sales tax for infrastructure, and in the Center School District,OK'd a large increase in their operating tax levy to improve teacher salaries.

In Wyandotte County, the highly -praised , former superintendent of the Unified Schools,Ray Daniels,was the top vote-getter in a crowded field for election to the Kansas City ,Kansas Community College Board of Trustees. Also elected was recently retired Kansas City, Kansas police officer, Donald Ash.

Moderates and pro-education voters made their voices heard yesterday in Johnson County. Laura Ziegler has more.
