Kansas City, MO – The Kansas Jayhawks played to a home crowd at the Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City this weekend. The KU men won the Big 12 Basketball Tournament, defeating Texas 84-74 in the final game. Kansas earned the number one seed in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. K-State were given an 11 seed.

Immigration advocates are questioning testimony earlier this month by Missouri treasurer and Republican gubernatorial hopeful Sarah Steelman. They see Steelman overestimated the lost tax revenue to the state from illegal immigrants.

The Liberty School District has hired an auditor to look into how the school handles credit cards used by the district's top administrators.

The Kansas City Health Department is expanding services for women, infants, and children. It will open two new offices this week and hopes to serve an additional 700 people in the Kansas City area.
