Kansas City, MO – - Sprint Nextel reported a half-billion dollar quarterly loss today. The resulting look for cost-cutting measures could bring more job cuts at the Overland Park-based company.
- The Missouri Senate Elections Committee this afternoon approved a proposed constitutional amendment requiring that voters present a photo ID at the polls.
- Missouri Governor Matt Blunt says the State Highway Patrol has identified 250 illegal immigrants since last summer.
- Kansas State University President Jon Wefald announced plans to retire at the end of the next academic year. He's been at the university for 22 years.
- US Attorney John Wood announced the indictment this afternoon of a man and woman who allegedly sold a girl for sex acts.
