Kansas City, MO –

  • Kansas Attorney General Steven Six has modified a lawsuit that would have sent abortion records subpoenaed by Phill Kline back to Planned Parenthood immediately. Six is now saying the records don't have to be returned until the criminal prosecution is concluded.
  • The Kansas City City Council endorsed a sales-tax-free zone in the Black Heritage District today. The plan requires state approval.
  • The council sent a proposed 10-cent property tax to support the city's museums back to committee because the city only has state authority for a levy for the Kansas City Museum.

  • Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.

Your support has always made KCUR's work possible — from reporting that keeps officials accountable, to storytelling to connects our community. Help ensure the future of local journalism.
