Kansas City, MO –

  • Storms headed for Kansas City have already spawned tornados. Several tornados have touched down in western Kansas. Thunderstorms packing 100 mile an hour winds are marching across the state.
  • Johnson County Commissioners today approved the plan a Research and Education Triangle. Voters must still approve an 1/8-cent sales tax to give the project a "go."
  • Johnson County Commissioners did not approve Stilwell's bid to become recognized as a city all its own. A majority voted for the measure, but passage required a unanimous vote.
  • The Kansas City council debated transit again today, with transit chair Russ Johnson presenting still another proposal.

  • KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.
