Kansas City, MO –

  • A non-binding decision by the U.S. General Accounting Office says the Air force should reconsider its award of a $35 billion tanker contract to a European consortium led by Airbus. The decision is in response to a protest from Boeing.
  • As record breaking flooding continues along the Mississippi, floodwaters have topped the levees between the towns of Hannibal, Missouri and Quincy, Illinois. Officials in Hannibal say the city is in pretty good shape. But the waters threaten Elsberry, Winfield, Old Monroe and Foley.

  • KCUR prides ourselves on bringing local journalism to the public without a paywall — ever.
