Kansas City, MO –

  • The heat index has hit 106 degrees downtown... 108 at KCI. Authorities advise efforts to stay cool and avoiding outdoor exercise till the heat wave passes on Wednesday.
  • The Kansas City Water Services Department has instituted its Heat Advisory Policy. No water service will be shut off through Tuesday because of the heat hazard.
  • Missouri has had its second tiger attack in as many days, again at an exotic animal facility. A teenage volunteer is in critical condition after being attacked in Branson.

  • Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
