The Kansas City-St. Joseph Diocese today signed the $10 million settlement of 47 allegations of sexual abuse by clergy. Some defendents are displeased that not all of the accused priests will be defrocked.

Barack Obama says he has chosen his running mate and notified all candidates. Kansas Governor Sebelius acknowledged getting a call but wouldn't comment further.

Sprint land-based phone company spinoff Embarq says it will eliminate up to 700 jobs and 300 contract positions.

Kansas City's city attorney is asking council members to send him any messages from Gloria Squitiro after a voice message sent by the mayor's controversial wife appeared on a local web site.
