Missouri's method of execution is again under scrutiny from the State Supreme Court. Death Row inmates contend that the drugs and methods involved in lethal injections should have been subjected to public input and legislative oversight before implementation.

Michelle Johnson, mother of "Precious Doe," testified at the murder trial of Harrell Johnson that she knew the little girl would die without medical help, but none was sought because the couple was on the run from the law.

Gateway Ethanol of Pratt, Kansas has filed bankruptcy. The rising price of corn has already taken its toll on three other Kansas producers.
