The Kansas City city council has passed the first stage plan for building a $500 million defense plant in southern Kansas city that will make non-nuclear parts for nuclear weapons.

The Kansas City police department will pay $750,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by a woman who suffered a miscarriage after her requests to be taken to a hospital were ignored.

Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder wants Governor Blunt to call a special legislative session to address heating bill relief for poor Missourians.
