Kansas City, MO – The Kansas House has given first-round approval to a plan that would cut $48 million from public schools as part of a deficit reduction bill.

The Kansas City city council may have had the shortest committee meeting ever yesterday.

Missouri transportation officials continue to wait and see how much money President Obama's economic stimulus package may contain for the Show-me State's roads.

A judge is giving investigators more time to finish a report on whether former Missouri Governor Matt Blunt's office wrongly deleted emails.

The Missouri Tigers upset 16th-ranked Texas last night 69-65. The win moves Mizzou to third place in the Big 12 with a 6 and 2 conference record, 19 and 4 overall. In women's basketball, 18th-ranked Kansas State held on for a 58-54 win over Missouri, and Kansas prevailed over Colorado 65-54.
