Kansas City, MO – A city council committee advanced its version of a Kansas City budget yesterday, and Mayor Mark Funkhouser is campaigning for further revisions.

The investigation continues into a the deaths of four people at an apartment in the Kansas City suburb of Raymore.

Even before New York swindler Bernie Madoff stepped into a jail cell last week, he had affected the lives of inmates -- in Kansas.

An organization that cares for some developmentally disabled Kansans is defending its selection for additional Medicaid funding from the state.

The Kansas Transportation secreatry is pushing for a stronger seat belt law, arguing Kansas is in danger of missing out on $11 million in federal highway funds.
