Kansas City, MO – Massive amounts of electricity are being consumed with the region's excessive heat this week.

At least a quarter of the some million people that have HIV in the U.S. don't even know they're infected. That's caused several local health agencies to step up their efforts to prevent the spread of the disease and encourage people to get tested.

Missouri's state budget for Fiscal Year 2010 has been signed into law. But Governor Jay Nixon also used his veto pen to cut 105 million dollars.

Operation Rescue is demanding that the U.S. Justice Department investigate what it says are death threats against abortion opponents after the killing of Dr. George Tiller.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
