Kansas City, MO – It is no longer illegal to picket at funerals in Kansas City, Missouri. The city council repealed what was said to be the nation's first municipal funeral picketing law yesterday.

A coalition of labor unions and environmental groups is working to replace lost manufacturing jobs in Kansas with new "green" jobs.

Missouri's texting-while-driving ban for motorists age 21 and younger goes into effect today. But there are several other new laws taking effect also geared toward making the roads safer.

Kansas Representative Lynn Jenkins said a recent comment about fellow Republicans seeking a "great white hope" was misunderstood.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
