Kansas City artist Shane Evans may be best known around the country for his illustrations in children's books, but his impact on the local community goes far beyond paper.? You may know his signature character, "Olu", with his afro curls and big eyes.

Steve Kraske talks with Evans, whose multi-media personality stretches from creativity based on his own experiences here and across the globe, and whose desire to bring out the creativity in children and adults alike comes to life in his "Dream Studio", part gallery, workspace, and arts venue for the Kansas City community, his visual and musical work, as well as his new book Olu's Dream, the first book he's both written and illustrated.
