Kansas City, MO – Two Johnson County School Districts announced proposed staff and budget cuts last night.

The Kansas City Missouri Police department has announced it will aside $300,000 dollars from its budget next year to support the violence prevention program Aim for Peace.

A Denver-based collection agency has announced it is expanding in Overland Park and plans to hire 1,200 workers over the next five years.

Missouri is developing a database to track purchases of cold medicine that can be used to make methamphetamine.

Missouri's Attorney General says his office may have to enforce the law with as much as a million dollars less than anticipated when the state budget is put together.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon says the state and regional economies can benefit from Missouri's push into biotechnology and the life sciences.

Congress just eliminated federal funding for KCUR, but public radio is for the people.
