The first phase of Kansas City Mayor Mark Funkhouser's "Schools First" program was sidelined in a council committee meeting yesterday.

The Missouri House and Senate have sent to Governor Jay Nixon legislation restricting the activities of sexually oriented businesses in the Show-me State.

The Missouri Senate has approved a scaled-down version of the ethics bill passed last week by the House. House members have until 6:00 this evening to pass it.

After the Kansas City Royals snapped their 7-game losing streak yesterday at Kauffman Stadium, it was announced that manager Trey Hillman was fired.
