Kansas City, MO – Kansas City, Missouri will proceed with plans to put the public safety sales tax up for renewal in November. But the city won't change its redistricting plans despite pressure from civil rights leaders.

Highwoods Properties plans to build an eight story office building in the heart of the Country Club Plaza, a move that some say would damage the historic district.

The Rural Mainstreet survey of rural bankers in Kansas, Missouri, and eight more Midwest states shows a further dip in the economy after earlier signs of a rebound.
