Farewell: A Review

KCUR Arts Reporter Steve Walker share's his impressions of current movies.

Farewell
RATED PG13
IN FRENCH & RUSSIAN WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES

This political thriller - in Russian, French and English - will remind many of Steven Spielberg's "Munich" in the way it covers a global event through the lives of just a handful of characters.

Here, the situation in question is the fall of the Soviet Union and how two less-than-perfect but more-than-human spies bring it down (before others break it up).

Fred Ward does a competent impression of Ronald Reagan, who's first appalled and then zealoulsy determined when he hears how much inside information about the U.S. the Russians have gathered.

A wonderfully realized drama the scope of which Hollywood hardly ever makes anymore
