Kansas City, MO – Kansas Governor-elect Sam Brownback has announced his transition team, which will help get his administration ready to take office in just over two months.

A new federal-state program has been set up to provide community-based services to Missourians with developmental disabilities. "Partnership for Hope" will serve as a link between the state's Department of Mental Health and the national Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Emergency situations ranging from water rescues to grain elevator collapses are set to be discussed at the 2010 Kansas Technical Rescue conference taking place this week in Salina.

Journalism and geography are among 10 undergraduate degree programs that will be phased out at the University of Central Missouri.
