KANSAS CITY, Mo. – President Barack Obama has signed a statewide emergency declaration for Missouri after a severe winter storm that buried much of the state in snow this week.

Olathe police and fire investigators think someone set fire to Green Springs Elementary School yesterday after burglarizing it.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has released an additional 10 million dollars withheld from school bus funding for Missouri's public schools this year.

The Kansas Senate confirmed Gov. Sam Brownback's nominees to lead the state Departments of Labor and Commerce yesterday.

In the University of Kansas ticket scandal, the only case left undecided in court is that of Ben Kirtland. He worked in the KU athletics department in fundraising. A change-of-plea hearing for Kirtland is now scheduled.

The Kansas City Art Institute has named Jacqueline Chanda its new presidents.
