Deb Olin Unferth on "Revolution: The Year I Fell in Love and Went to Join the War"

Author Deb Olin Unferth's work has been featured in Harper's Magazine, McSweeney's, and The Believer. She's also the author of a collection of stories called "Minor Robberies" and the novel, "Vacation." Her new memoir is called "Revolution: The Year I Fell in Love and Went to Join the War."By Laura Spencer

Kansas City, Mo. – Her new memoir is called "Revolution: The Year I Fell in Love and Went to Join the War." As Unferth reads in this excerpt for KCUR's Laura Spencer, the year is 1987 and Unferth and her boyfriend, "George," run away from college and travel to Central America.
