KANSAS CITY, Mo. –

  • Unified Government Commissioners are taking tours of Kansas City, Kansas and Wyandotte County ahead of their November strategic planning session. 

     

  • City council rejected Clay Chastain's latest transit proposal last week, but Chastain and his committee of petitioners filed a formal request to send the measure to the voters. 

     

  • A large number of workers at Larned State Hospital have been told they will be on mandatory 48-hour workweeks until further notice because of severe shortages at the facility. 

     

  • Matt Cassel tossed a 52-yard scoring strike to Dwayne Bowe, and Ryan Succop* booted five field goals, as the Kansas City Chiefs broke into the win column yesterday with a 22-17 victory over the Minnesota Vikings at Arrowhead Stadium.
