KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services, or SRS, has officially signed a deal to keep the agency's Lawrence office open. City and county officials had to agree to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep the office running, but the state could again pick up the tab.

Another attempt will be made by Missouri lawmakers to scrap the state's presidential primary and replace it with a system of caucuses.

A 43-year-old Olathe man has been sentenced to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to molesting an 8-year-old girl.
