Obama in Osawatomie; Riding with Teddy Roosevelt
The president is coming to Osawatomie, Ks. because of a speech given there more than 100 years ago. Teddy Roosevelt delivered a speechin 1910 that called for a "New Nationalism", and defended the government's role in regulating the economy, defending human welfare and property rights. Whitehouse deputy press secretary Josh Earnest says Obama will channel Roosevelt. Frank Morris has more of the story.

Brownback Opposes Rule Keeping Teens from Farm Work
Kansas Governor Sam Brownback opposes a proposed labor rule that would limit the work young people can do on farms. The rule would bar 14- and 15-year-olds from operating most machinery, like tractors and mowers. The U-S Department of Labor says the change would help prevent farm injuries. K-State Heads to the Cotton Bowl
Kansas State will meet Arkansas in the Cotton The Wildcats, ranked Number 8 in the BCS, enjoyed a resurgence of sorts this season under coach Bill Snyder, finishing 10-2. The win total is the school's highest since 2003. The Cotton Bowl is scheduled to be played on January 6th in Arlington, Texas. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
Missouri will face North Carolina in the Independence Bowl.

The Kansas City Chiefs ended their four-game losing skid yesterday by defeating the Chicago Bears 10-3. The win gives the Chiefs a 5-7 record, two games out of first place in the AFC West division.
