President’s Budget Leaves Out Money For NBAF

President Obama submitted his 2013 budget proposal Monday.  The budget calls for no construction funding for a planned livestock disease lab in Kansas.  Listen to more here.

Bill Would Allow Some Illegal Immigrants To Work In Kansas

Lawmakers are considering a bill that would give some illegal immigrants the chance to work legally in Kansas. The immigrants would have to meet certain qualifications and take jobs in industries that are short on workers. Find out more here.

Missouri Senate OKs Cell Phone Do-Not-Call List

The Missouri Senate has given first-round approval to a bill that would add cell phone numbers to the state’s Do-Not-Call list. There was little to no debate on it Monday and it was easily approved by voice-vote.  The sponsor, State Senator Will Kraus (R, Lee's Summit), says the measure has failed in recent years because it was always paired with proposals to ban robo-calls.  Find out more here.
