Health Services Expand In South Johnson County
Health services for uninsured and underinsured people in Johnson and Miami counties just got a major boost. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded the Health Partnership of Johnson County, a twenty-year-old free clinic in Overland Park, a special designation and $596,250 in funds that will allow the place to double its capacity. Kansas Soldiers Make Progress On Colorado Fire
It's slow going, but Kansas soldiers are making progress in a fight against wildfires in Colorado. The nine-soldier crew is using a helicopter to dump water on the blaze. Read more here.
State Park Near St. Joseph Reopens After Flood
Progress has been made on one of two flood-damaged state parks in northwest Missouri. Big Lake and Lewis & Clark State Parks were underwater for several weeks during last summer’s severe flooding along the Missouri River. Lewis and Clark, about 20 miles southwest of St. Joseph, has reopened for day use only. Read more here.
