Training Pilot Apparently Wanted To Be Doing Something Else

RACHEL MARTIN, HOST:

Good morning. I'm Rachel Martin. We all get a little complacent sometimes. That was clearly the case for an Australian training pilot. He was asked to test a single propeller plane at a single speed for two hours, and he was clearly not into this job because at some point, he used his tracking device to spell out the words, quote, "I'm bored."

No one could see it from the ground, but plenty of aviation followers did. The flight training director said the pilot won't be disciplined, adding, quote, "young instructors - what can you do?" Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
