Joe Cartwright and the band in a birthday salute of Kansas City's own Count Basie. A visit from Dr Pearl, this week's Blues in the News and a new take on "Who's On First" round out the show.

Live! from the Mutual Musicians Foundation in Kansas City's 18th and Vine Historic Jazz District--where Basie tickled the ivories and Dizzy met the Bird-- it's 12 O'clock Jump , KCUR's jazz, blues and comedy jam. Theater League produces the weekly one hour variety show, broadcast every Saturday at midnight, right after The Fish Fry.

Each week, David Basse, Nedra Dixon, Pearl McDonald and Pete Weber join musical director Joe Cartwright, Tyrone Clark on bass and Mike Warren on drums to celebrate a great name in jazz. Blues in the News, the Jazz Calendar, cutting contests and topical sketch comedy round out the hour long show, which celebrates Kansas City's jazz heritage and the after-hours jams that have made the Mutual Musicians Foundation the late-night place to be since the 30s.
