Kansas City's American Jazz Museum is building momentum for a rebirth, the Kansas City Business Journal reports.
The museum, which received an unflattering report from outside consultants in April 2018, elected a new board of directors in November. On Wednesday, the museum announced that the board named an interim executive director to replace Cheptoo Kositany-Buckner, who stepped down in April 2018 to "open the door for the museum to be successful and to grow to the future."
Ralph Caro will lead the museum as interim executive director and is focused on implementing key recommendations from the consultants' report. One of his top priorities was overseeing a financial audit of the museum.
Caro built a career in the health care industry and previously was COO at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center and CEO of Swope Parkway Health Center.
