Kansas City, MO – A wide ranging search is underway across central and northwestern Missouri for a 2-year old girl abducted from her Cass County home today.

The girl is identified as Syah Duffey and was taken from her home in the town of East Lynne about 8:30 this morning. Ninety minutes may have elapsed before the kidnapping was reported.

Cass County Deputy Kevin Tieman says the abductor was a heavy- set woman in her 20's or 30's, wearing a gray top and jeans. Tieman says the woman drove an older, white, dirty van with an Iowa license plate. He told KMBC TV news-- "we believe that since the van had the Iowa license the van is probably headed back to Iowa. And we've notified authorities, both in Iowa and between here and there to be on lookout for this van. So anything on those corridors that may lead back to Iowa, I-35 and I-29 and those areas."

The number for anyone to call with information is simply 9-1-1.
