Kansas City, Missouri's superintendent of schools expects to break some good news to the community later this month.
Dr. Stephen Green stopped short of announcing that Kansas City Public Schools has regained accreditation. But the announcement is expected later this month when the official report on the new MSIP-5 accreditation standards comes out. A score of 70 out of 140 possible points would qualify for provisional accreditation, and on KCUR's Central Standard, Green said, "We've moved well beyond 70 points for provisional accreditation status."
A "quantum leap," Green said, adding, "now we have our sights set on full accreditation.”
Full accreditation will require a future score of not 70 points, but 70 percent or 98 points.
